Mikaela D. Lengwin, DC, NREMT

Mikaela, aka Dr. Mac, graduated from Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota with a sports emphasis after completing her degree in Kinesiology at Loras College. While in Minnesota, Mikaela enjoyed her experiences working with patients of all ages, activities, and levels of fitness. She interned in the school’s Human Performance Center treating youth, collegiate, and semi-professional athletes, as well as weekend warriors, physical laborers, desk jockeys, walkers, golfers, and many more.

Dr. Mac grew up in Mount Vernon, competing as a gymnast, diver, and softball player, was a member of the high school marching band, and working on friends’ farms. In these various activities, she experienced stress fractures of both knees and neck injuries that led to alarming facial numbness. While completing in high school and college, she appreciated how chiropractic adjustments and supportive therapies balanced her nervous system and improved her spinal and extremity motion - contributing to her success as a student-athlete.

In 2023, she spent 3 weeks in rural communities surrounding Nairobi, Kenya treating hundreds of young students and orphans. Her favorite part was the ear-to-ear smiles after giving children their first chiropractic adjustments.

She is a lifelong learner participating in the American Chiropractic Association’s Sports Council Research Committee and is continuing research from her graduate studies on youth athlete injury prevention.

In her spare time, you might find Dr. Mac cycling, doing a H.I.I.T. workout, gardening, hiking, golfing, working at Kroul Farms, or paddle boarding on Lake Macbride!
